Overview

The World Coordinates Render Element provides a render output where the Red, green and Blue channels produce the final world space X, Y and Z coordinates of all surfaces visible at render time.

Since pixel values can be negative, a floating point image format (such as EXR) should always be used when saving this render element.

Common Uses

The World Coordinates render element is useful for changing the appearance of a scene's lighting in a composite without re-rendering the scene. In the example below a relighting workflow is used at a composite level to change the lighting in the scene.

Note that this workflow does not create any extra shadowing.
