Overview

The Mix (Map) texture allows for two textures or other sources to be blended together.

Mix (Map) texture is called Mix texture in all versions until V-Ray version 3.60.

Parameters

Texture A (bottom) – Specifies the first texture to be blended. When a texture is selected, it overrides the color as long as the texture checkbox is enabled.

Texture B (top) – Specifies the second texture to be blended. When a texture is selected, it overrides the color as long as the texture checkbox is enabled.

Mix Map – The color or texture (grayscale) assigned here controls the opacity of Texture B. When a texture is selected, it overrides the color as long as the texture checkbox is enabled.

Mix Curve

Mix Curve – Enables or disables the mix curve.

Transition Upper – Specifies the upper threshold for transitioning between the two sources.

Transition Lower – Specifies the lower threshold for transitioning between the two sources.

Multipliers

Mode – Specifies the multiplication mode of the colors.

Multiplier – Multiplies the RGB numbers for each pixel of the top layer with the RGB number of the corresponding pixel from the bottom layer. The result is a darker picture.
Blend Amount  Takes each pixel from the top layer if present. Otherwise the bottom layer is used.

Texture A (bottom) – Controls the intensity of the source A texture.

Texture B (top) – Controls the intensity of the source B texture.

Mix Map – Blends between a color and a texture, if specified.
