This page provides information on installing the trial version of V-Ray for Unreal.

Before installing V-Ray for Unreal, please make sure you do not have the Unreal Editor or the Epic Launcher running. |
The installation from a .zip file can be completed in one of two ways:

Copying the ThirdParty folder
1. Open the zip file. Inside it, you will find three folders - UE_4.19, UE_4.20 and vray. The ThirdParty folder resides in the vray folder.
2. Open the folder corresponding to the version of V-Ray for Unreal you want to install.
3. Inside it, you will find the VRayForUnreal folder. Extract this folder to the installation path of Unreal's Plugins folder (the default is C:\Program Files\Epic Games\UE_4.XX\Plugins).
4. Extract the ThirdParty folder inside the newly created VRayForUnreal folder.
5. Make sure all folders are extracted in their correct location.
6. Your installation of V-Ray for Unreal is now complete.
7. Install the License Server. For more information, see how to install you license server.
Using environment variables
1. Open the zip file. Inside you will find three folders - UE_4.19, UE_4.20 and vray.
2. Open the folder corresponding to the version of V-Ray for Unreal you want to install.
3. Inside it you will find the VRayForUnreal folder. Extract this folder to the installation path of Unreal's Plugins folder (the default is C:\Program Files\Epic Games\UE_4.XX\Plugins).
4. Extract the vrayappsdk files from the ThirdParty folder, residing in the vray folder, to a suitable location (e.g. a server).
5. Create a new system environment variable. Name it VRAY_FOR_UNREAL_APPSDK and point it to the location where appsdk files are extracted.
6. Make sure all folders are extracted at their correct locations.
7. Your installation of V-Ray for Unreal is now complete.
Obtaining V-Ray for Unreal
This section describes the setting up of your account and downloading the V-Ray for Unreal Trial.
Creating your account
The first step in obtaining the trial version of V-Ray for Unreal is to create an account. Go to our Trial download page and press the Download V-Ray for Unreal Trial link.

Next, you will be asked to create an account if you do not have one or to Sign In.

If you already have an account, you will just need to sign in with your credentials:

Downloading the trial version
After signing into the website, you will be directed to the V-Ray for Unreal trial download screen. Choose between Business, Student, Educator, or Individual, and press the START MY TRIAL NOW button.

Once the site has finished processing the request, you should see the message shown below. Click on the Download Trial button.

From there, you will be redirected to the download page for V-Ray for Unreal.

Select which version you need to download. Install the downloaded file. For more info on how to do it, see the Installation of V-Ray for Unreal page.
Once the installation of the License Server is done, you are directed to the License Server local host (127.0.0.1:30304) in order to sign in and activate it.
