Overview

When you import your vrscene all materials are analyzed and optimized for real-time. However the original material parameters are stored as metadata which can be called at render time. This feature enables you to switch between rendering the material that was set in Unreal Engine or the material that was stored in the vrscene file. This gives the possibility to use various and more complex materials that were created outside Unreal ( e.g. Blend materials, Carpaints, Subsurface materials, etc.).

Settings

To use this feature you have to right click on the material in the Content Browser you wish to override at render time and choose “Render material from .vrscene”.

  • Render material from .vrscene OFF - The Unreal material will be used in the render

  • Render material from .vrscene ON - The original material from the imported .vrscene will be used at render time

  • Enable render materials from .vrscene - When you have multiple materials selected the original materials from the imported .vrscene will be used at render time

  • Disable render materials from .vrscene - When you have multiple materials selected the Unreal materials will be used in the render
